It’s dusk again. The sun has gone down, the light already beginning to fade. I stare at where it used to be from my throne of plastic. That reddish-pink glow on the horizon is proof that the sun is still there, just around the corner even though I can’t see it.
The earth turns its back on the sun and the sky goes dark, but while the moon shines down on me, I know the sun is still there. The earth will turn its face toward it again eventually and I will feel its warmth grace my skin once more. For better or for worse, the night won’t last forever.
